Teekkaris have always sung rather than well, and before Tampereen Akateemiset Laulajat (The Academic Singers of Tampere) teekkaris used to sing in a choir under the protective wings of Tampereen Teekkarien Soitannollinen Seura. In the beginning of the 1980s the choir activity started to fade away and a whole new choir was founded to maintain the academic singing tradition. The first conductor was the present honorary member Jens Lundell.<\/p>\n
