The arrangement competition is here again! The idea is to arrange a known or self-written song in a new way, preferably so that it can be performed by a choir or a smaller vocal group. This year we are hoping to see Christmas carols that could be used for our upcoming album. However, other arrangements are very welcomed too.

The competition ends on Aug 1st 2020 at 23:59. Arrangements must be sent before the deadline in PDF format to hallitus(at) or brought to the choir’s mail box (located in the hallway behind the info desk in Päärakennus). The notes must be so clear that the jury will be able to read them. If possible, it would also be highly appreciated, if you could send the arrangement in MIDI format as well.

An expert jury will be choosing the winner(s) that will receive honor, glory and amazing prizes! Things that the jury will appreciate in an arrangement are the quality of the song and the arrangement as well as its suitability for Teekkarikuoro.

Here are the rules of the competition:
  • There are no separate series in the competition. However, the arrangement could be, for example, one of the following:
    • Short song, about one line, less than a minute long
    • Female choir song
    • Male choir song
    • Mixed choir song
  • You can use an existing song or write one yourself. The arrangement must be self-made. You can also use an old arrangement made by you.
  • The arrangement style is free.
  • You can send more than one arrangement to take part in the competition.
  • The competition is open for everyone.
  • If you don’t want to use your own name, entries are accepted by a pseudonym. In this case, any awards, honor, glory and remuneration etc. are lost.
  • The user rights will be negotiated individually.
